When I think about makeup that I can rely on without overthinking, it usually comes down to two things: a soft eyeshadow that quietly shapes my day, and a highlighter that catches light in just the right way without feeling excessive.
I don’t like anything that feels forced on my face—I prefer products that settle in naturally, almost like they belong there.

1. Dasique Eyeshadow Palette #01 Sugar Brownie

This palette feels like a warm, quiet morning to me. The brown tones are soft, slightly sweet, and never too loud. When I use it, I tend to stay within the lighter shades for everyday looks, just enough to give my eyes a bit of definition without making it obvious that I tried too hard. What I enjoy most is how forgiving it is.
Even when I’m in a rush and not paying full attention to blending, it still turns out smooth. It gives me that “I didn’t try much, but still look put together” feeling, which is honestly what I want most days.

2. Rare Beauty Positive Light Silky Touch Highlighter

This highlighter is more of a quiet glow than a statement sparkle. I like that it doesn’t sit on the skin loudly—it melts into it in a way that just makes everything look a bit more alive. When light hits, it’s soft and controlled, not overwhelming. I usually apply it lightly on the high points, just enough so it catches attention when I move, not when I stand still.
There’s a kind of ease it brings to my makeup routine, like I don’t need to do much for my skin to look awake and fresh. It feels like the final touch that quietly ties everything together.
When I use both, I don’t feel like I’m building a look—I feel like I’m just refining whatever version of myself is already there that day.
